This family was looking for a Russian Blue and had already been to two shelters to see other cats that had were already going through the adoption process when they called us. Sweetie took to them right away and they felt at ease that Sweetie would be a good calming partner for their handicapped daughter. They were great people and we felt very good about Sweetie going with them. The responses started the next day and Phyllis was the first one to call on her. We talked a couple of times and I knew she was the one meant to have Lady Blu.

     Shawn did get adopted. I'd like for you to know he had several calls and I could not be happier for that little guy. He now has a place where he can be himself, not leashed with a collar. His adopted family just fell in love with him. He reminded her of a Russian Blue she had before and the horrible story that went with it. We set up an appointment to meet at my home, where Shawn was just being a ham, as he does when someone is new. They brought toys, treats, and their love and affection. It was all great, I sent with them all his favorites and a list of his schedule, and his favorite blanket. I also gave her the name of his local veterinary doctor, so he can have all his medical records transferred over to her veterinarian. Shawn has a lot of history, he was very well taken care of. After all, he was all I had... My friend, my companion, and when the rules came down to all pets having to be on a leash, that was tough for me and Shawn. It was in my eyes wrong for a cat. I still cry, and will for a long time. It seems everything we did, we did together. The adoptive family has a beautiful home, not too far from me. They text me of all his improvements and send pictures too. I haven't yet asked to see him, I miss his smell, his kisses, hugs,and his red dot play time. He was one of a kind. Thank you, Rescue Me, for helping Shawn get a second chance in life and be the little man he so deserved to be. I couldn't have done it without you. We found the best couple in the world for us. I have pictures on my wall from when I first brought him home as a kitten. He couldn't even walk up the stairs. Now he loves to dangle off of them, and he is doing just that in his new home. He has mastered the doggie door, and is able to come and go as he pleases. He has adjusted very well. This story is endless. Once again, thank you! Best wishes to all those that use Rescue Me!      Rescue Me is a terrific site for those with a need to find a forever home for their beloved pets. I had three requests in three days and went to the home of the best match before the adoption took place. After a heartfelt talk about Sasha's situation, I knew this was the right home for her.      Fenn and Bart were two of four kittens abandoned in our neighborhood. This neighborhood is known to take care of animals, so people tend to drop their unwanted animals here. There are many 'feral' cats, living in the wild but friendly, but these kitties were curious and cute and ready to trust. All except Fenn. Fenn used to sit on the fence and watch while his litter mates made friends with our family and others. He gradually began to come over, mostly for the food! He was clearly the runt, although you'd never know it now, and the last to trust us or allow himself to be held. But now he's a fool for a belly rub, just like Bartholomeow, who answers to Bart. These two sleep on top of one another, play together, play with the dogs, and just wanted to be indoor love bugs. We had a couple of contacts, but it was not to be. Then the Vergaras called, a couple who had recently lost the last of two senior cats, brothers whom they adopted at around nine months. They have a family member who is allergic and so we're specifically looking for brothers to keep each other company, who were also a low allergen cat, like these two Russian Blue mixes. When they got here, Fenn walked right over to each of them and shocked us when he immediately began rubbing up against their legs, entwining himself as if to say, 'Hi, Family!' Then they set down the crates and Fenn walked right in, which he had NEVER done before. Bart was happy to find more people to give him belly rubs, and also eager to investigate the crates. So off these two went with their new furever family. I'll miss them, but I have to thank Rescue Me for helping me to help not only two abandoned kittens, but also their new family, all now happy to be together!

     Thank you once again for your great, amazing work. I posted this Russian Blue kitten on Rescue Me. He went to his new home yesterday. I checked on him just a few minutes ago, and his new family reported that they went to a vet today and the kitten was given a 'in good health' report. The vet said they were waiting one week for him to adapt to his new environment before giving him the required shots. At which time they will have him neutered also. I already miss him.      Louie was an older cat who needs a place to stay because the people that had him were sick and was not able to take care of him properly. All he really needed was someone who would love him, so that he could return that same love back. He was adopted by a wonderful lady and her family. They had prepared a special room just for him with toys, a bed and everything he would need, it actually looked like a nursery. Louie is not locked in that room, he has access to their entire home, but it was good to know that they would take the time to prepare a special place for him. My heart is at ease knowing he will be loved for the rest of his life. It took less that a week from posting and I am so thankful to Rescue Me for being there for Louie.

     Our decision to re-home our cat, Alvin, was very difficult to make. Our daughter's health was deteriorating and our doctor's advice left us little other choice but to find a new home for our cats. After exhausting our local network of friends and family, we needed to find a resource that would help us find a new family that would appreciate the characteristics we adore in Alvin. We were contacted by a lovely family to adopt our Russian Blue Mix. We worked through all of our screening questions and decided it was a good fit. I am so pleased with Rescue Me!

     French Vanilla and her twin Mocha Caramel were adopted together after being posted on Rescue Me. We're a rescue group called M&M's FurEver Furbabies. We saved their mom from death row in a local shelter where she then gave birth to five healthy kittens. All were adopted except one, who we decided ourselves to keep as a personal kitten. We have updated photos for everyone! Thank you, Rescue Me.

     Caramel Mocha and her twin sister, French Vanilla, were adopted together at four months old after they were born at M&M's Fur-Ever Furbabies rescue. Their mom was rescued by our non profit animal rescue after being placed on death row at a local shelter.      Nika was adopted today by a very loving lady and her seven year old daughter. It took one week, I had four inquiries, and the lady and her daughter drove over 100 miles to adopt her. They were very loving and gave a great deal of thought prior to adopting her. I would have loved to keep her, but I have four indoor rescue cats six feral cats outside and three dogs. All are vaccinated, and spayed or neutered. I only took this cat until I could find a home. Someone told me about Rescue Me thank goodness. While I provide a loving home for any animal, I thought it would be in Nika's best interest to belong to a smaller family. Thank goodness for your service.      Thank you, Rescue Me. Ollie found a wonderful home. I was contacted by a lady as well who was also willing to give her a home, but she could not take her until later. The logistics of getting her to her would have been a bit difficult. When the opportunity came up for her to go to a good family, who had another rescue cat and whose vet gave them a glowing recommendation, I couldn't pass up the opportunity. Ollie had been with me for almost five months and it was a bittersweet day. I will miss her terribly, but I'm so happy that she found her forever home! Ollie was pulled from a kill shelter just hours before she and her unborn babies were to be euthanized. One week later she gave birth to her beautiful little babies. But she was not in good condition at the time I got her and had a very hard labor and delivery over the course of three days! The babies had to be bottle fed and Ollie spent days in the hospital. We went through a lot together over the past few months. People sometimes ask me why I do what I do. I look at the faces of these angels and wonder how anyone can't. Is this not a life worth saving?

     We were running out of options when searching for a home for our cat. The shelters were full, and I really didn't want him to have to be in one anyway. My husband found this site, we posted him, and a wonderful couple has just brought him home. It was a matter of weeks, weeks where Nikolai didn't have to live in a kennel, feeling out of place or stressed. I think it will help his transition to a new home, and I thank Rescue Me for giving him and us that time together!

     When I read that this beautiful Russian Blue might be put down, all I could think is 'That's not going to happen'. I can't save them all, but I am going to save this one. We already have two cats, one stray that came to us 16 years ago in bad shape, and a 6 year old Russian Blue mix that I got as a kitten from our no-kill shelter for a companion for the stray. They just tolerate each other. My wife was against getting a third cat, but did agree we could find it a good home. Then she saw it when we got together with the lady who found it. When we got it home, the dreaded confrontation never happened. He is a mellow cat, and a good fit with the other two cats. For my wife, the attachment was instant, much to my amazement, and delight. So, if you're reading this, please, I know you can't save them all. But maybe, like me, you can save just one. The result just might be happier than you think, for both you, and the cat.      One day, I got a call from a woman who sounded quite pleasant and was willing to drive her family across the state to meet my foster. I was nervous but hopeful. This family turned out to be amazing and it was obvious that adopting a cat was very well thought out. I miss my handsome boy a lot but couldn't be happier that he found a wonderful forever home. I was reluctant to have faith in this website since it was free. I was so wrong to doubt. I knew his personality very well. After thoroughly screening potential adopters, he found his perfect home and is getting along so well with his new family. Rescue Me really came through with a ton of inquiries about Sweetheart.

     This was a great site. We already have three cats and a dog. A mommy cat and one kitten came into our garage starving!! I fed them and, well, they stayed. I tried many no kill shelters in my area and was told over and again that they were all FULL!! I was never going to take them to animal control as I didn't want them separated or put down. Since I found Rescue Me, I have gotten three or four inquiries! It works! It may take some time, be patient, it works!! My mom and kitten were adopted together and went to a little girl who recently lost a Manx kitten at three months old. She wanted another Manx.      Ruka is actually my grand cat. Her mom, my daughter could not keep Rucat any longer due to some personal reasons. She left Ru with me, knowing she will be safe and well taken care of here. But unfortunately my son is extremely allergic to cats and she had to go. I was not going to part with her unless I found a caring and loving home for her. Within two weeks of my posting her, I got several calls from individuals wanting to see her. One of them came and took her. I know she is in good hands with someone who has had a Russian Blue before. She lost her pet to death. She went through a grieving period of two years before she was ready for another cat. I was told that if I did not post a picture I would not get a good response. I tried, but failed to figure out how to post a picture. Yet, our Ru found a good home within two weeks. Thanks to Rescue Me.

     Lucy, who was actually confirmed as LOUIE!! was adopted on Saturday by his new owner Andrew. He will be a lucky boy and we started our adoption process at the vet where she confirmed HIS sex as a neutered male (so sorry!!) and he got his vaccinations and was thought to be at least five years old. It was so hard for me to say goodbye as we came to love this little sweetheart, but they have been wonderful and keeping me update on his progress of settling into his new home. They have not yet picked out a new name for him, but he will be very well cared for and very loved, which makes me feel better. I sure do miss that meow from him! I love you little guy!      Our family decided it was time to expand and bring a cat into our home. We researched breeds and decided a Russian Blue would be a great companion for our seven year old girl. We began looking at local shelters with no luck, then we looked on Petfinder... and then found Rescue Me! What a wonderful easy to use website! Contact was easy and the adoption went smooth. So glad this network is helping connect animals with new homes.

     I had tried finding Smokey a home through a paid ad in a local classified flyer, which generated a number of phone calls and no-shows. Someone ultimately took him home but gave him back a few days later. Fortunately, one of those callers mentioned Rescue Me. I really dreaded the thought of having to put him to sleep but was quickly running out of options. I was at my wit's end and decided to give the site a try. Once I figured out the site, Smokey's post was up. Literally, within an hour or so of posting, someone called and was very interested in him. They picked him up the next day. I called them a few days later, and they were so happy to have him. Smokey had started to get used to his new home and was coming out of hiding and playing with his new family. They really are enjoying him, and it sounds like Smokey is enjoying his new family. I'm so grateful that he's found a great home and that someone had mentioned this site.      What a wonderful website for animals. Rocky found an awesome forever home! I knew when my husband rescued Rocky that it was doubtful that our 'ferocious female' would accept him. But it was still difficult to give him up. Once I met his new mom and dad, I could see that Rocky is where he should be. He will be well cared for and loved. What a great ending for a cat who's life used to be so Rocky! Thank you so much.

     Blue Boy was adopted yesterday by a couple who know how precious he is. As of this morning, he was making his home under their bed, hopefully he'll come out soon and realize how lucky he is to be off the streets and in a loving home. They originally spotted him on Rescue Me and called me. A volunteer from Buster's Friends spotted him too and by the time he got to his forever home, he had his blood work, shots, chipped and neutered! All thanks to Buster's Friends!      Thank you everyone for you inquiries! I did find a good home for this cat. I had a gentleman email me that his mother's dog has breast cancer and has to be put down and she really wanted a cat this time to help her with her loss. Him and his daughter picked the kitten up yesterday and were very pleased to have found such a good pet for their family. This website was awsome! Thank you everyone!!

     When we rescued this beautiful but very pregnant Russian Blue, we knew she was special. But we also knew we couldn't keep her. Too many cats in the family already. But Rescue Me allowed us to post her so that we could find her the right family. A wonderful couple saw the listing and came to meet her. They fell in love and she now has a wonderful forever home. Now I just need to find an equally great home for the last of her babies.

     Ace was adopted, within a week of our posting on the Rescue Me website! We were very nervous and apprehensive because we wanted to make sure that we found the perfect home for him. We posted our listing and got several responses immediately. After several emails back and forth, a woman came to meet him and adopted him that day. We could not have asked for a better fit for Ace. We know he is in a loving home and will be very happy. I was ready to say no if the situation wasn't just right, and it was perfect.
